Gopalbari, Old City, Jaipur
Courtyard of Haveli Aara glowing at dusk
A boutique haveli in the Pink City

Rest inside walls that remember the old city.

Behind a carved sandstone gate a short walk from Jaipur's bazaars — nine rooms, one courtyard, and a kitchen that never really closes.

Heritage room with hand-painted ceiling
Nine rooms, no two alike

Every room keeps a trace of the original house.

Hand-painted ceilings, window seats, doors reclaimed from havelis that didn't survive — fitted into what the old house gave us.

Rooftop dinner with a view of Nahargarh Fort
Dinner service from 7 pm

Evenings on the roof, fort lit up in the distance.

Rajasthani and Indian dishes on the rooftop, the old city spreading out below, and Nahargarh Fort glowing after dark.

Our story

A family home before it was ever a hotel

Haveli Aara began as the Bhandari family's home in the Gopalbari quarter, built around a single courtyard where three generations took their meals. When the family opened its doors to travellers in 1998, they kept the courtyard at the centre of everything.

Each room keeps a trace of the original house: a hand-painted ceiling, a window seat, a door reclaimed from a haveli that didn't survive. Nothing was rebuilt to look old — it simply never stopped being itself.

Our rooms & suites

We came for two nights and stayed for five. The courtyard breakfast alone was worth changing our plans for.
